Authentic Presence: Day 2

Good day.

We’re still playing with Open. Today, try expressing what medium level open looks like with your body. Yesterday’s prompt was about being as physically open as you can - a theatre version. Today is more everyday - what does open look like in the everyday.

Why start presence training using movement?

There is wisdom in your body. Authentic presence isn’t an intellectual or rational way of expressing. It’s psycho-physical. By exploring how movement archetypes show up in your body, you can gain insight about what you allow yourself to show, and the connection between the inner and outer. Today, we’re still playing with the external.

A few things to note:

- You may find it hard to locate a medium expression. Yesterday can feel easy, yes silly, but easy to make yourself open. The in-between space of being a smaller open isn’t something everyone knows. Don’t judge this. We’re exploring and noticing. You may notice your mind or emotions resist the medium expression of open because it is new, or can feel unsafe. If it feels unsafe, you can drop it. Just hang out in big open for a few minutes.

- If you want to try integrating this into daily and work life, notice where a medium level openness shows up in your body as you interact with work and people.

- Notice when open palms and open chest naturally occur. Again, if never, that’s okay. We’re just exploring for now.

- Please resist the urge to try and be more open in your days. We’ll be exploring three more archetype movements in these 21 days to become more aware of our presence, not change who we are.

- Noticing open in your body, especially medium helps build concentration, sensory clarity, and equanimity. If you find you can focus better because of this work, it’s part of the design. Enjoy!

See you tomorrow.
